Holly Holm in recent fights has been going through the motions and not really exciting the fans. Well, if she heard that critique in the build up to her fight at the weekend, she most certainly reacted.

It was vintage ‘Preacher’s Daughter’, rolling back the years with sensational punch output to reaffirm her title aspirations, on a Fight Island 2 card that really struggled to get going.

Somewhat surprisingly, Bellator was the MMA highlight of the weekend, which is something we haven’t seen for a long time, so it was nice to switch franchises and pay credit where it was due. 

We also look ahead to a better card in Abu Dhabi this weekend, that includes Nick’s Prospect of 2020, heavyweight Tom Aspinall.
